The Situation
Faith Viera Lutheran Church was a project where Florida Bulb & Ballast, Inc. replaced HID parking lot lighting with LED to help reduce the Church’s parking lot lighting expense and become more energy efficient.
The Solution
Florida Bulb & Ballast worked with FVLC to remove 14 - 400W HID fixtures and replace with 14 – new 140W Envoy Gen2 Pro Series LED fixtures for the parking lot. The additional 4 parking lot light fixtures currently used were MH175W lamps and ballast, they too were removed and replaced with new 80W Envoy Pro Series LED fixtures. By converting to LED fixtures in the parking lot, it resulted in reduced energy consumption of approximately $2,177 per year in energy usage.
The Product
FB&B worked in coordination with Envoy Lighting to provide the best possible LED solution for the project. All the fixtures for this job were purchased from Envoy Lighting. Envoy also supplied slip fitters and aluminum pole top bracket tenon’s to complete the installation.
The Bottom Line and Green Effect
High Efficient Led lighting was used in the parking lot instead of HID Metal Halide technology in the parking lot while using a fraction of the energy consumed by Metal Halide. The fixtures chosen were able to achieve the required light levels in the parking area as well as being able to control any light bleed-over onto adjacent properties.
